We have heard a lot about compassion fatigue in the last couple of years when it comes to the veterinary community. It is a very important topic to address if you work in the veterinary field.
Earlier this week I returned to the scene of the crime…18 years ago 😱, I sat in the same classroom as a young, fresh-faced veterinary student full of hope and overwhelmed at the sheer volume of information I needed to cram into my brain.
Why is Dr. Mauricio Dujowich (aka "Dujo") jumping over a wall? Why is he behind bars? What does this imagery have anything to do with Vet Medicine? Well, watch the video. The message is quick and simple!
It is not uncommon for vet students to become stressed because the grades they earn in vet school are not always similar to the grades they achieved during their undergraduate studies. Many find themselves "in the middle of the pack" after being a "top student" previously. Emotionally, this can be very discouraging and depressing for some.
