Dear Vet Student,
I’m writing today to send you best wishes and good luck! After years of veterinary education, and several months of studying, you are about to take the most important exam of your life, the NAVLE!
I’ve been where you are. I know you may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and even a little scared. But rest assured, you will survive!
I promise that you know more than you think you know. You didn’t make it this far by accident or sheer luck! You have worked your tail off, maybe using our VetPrep Navle study prep, and you have earned the opportunity to sit for the exam. Be confident!
In 2015 and 2014, over 90% of students who took the NAVLE for the first time during the November/December test window passed the exam. There is no reason this can’t be you!
Even if you think you know where it is, do a drive by to make sure. I recommend you even go in and double check what you can and can’t take in with you to the exam. The more you know about the environment you will be in; the less anxiety you will have on test day!
This will save you 15 minutes on test day, and again, you will go in prepared!
Make sure you are eating well by consuming things other just energy drinks and protein bars to fuel your body.
Even a 15-minute walk will get your blood flowing and relax your mind.
Sacrificing sleep for study time will not help you, and will likely increase your anxiety and exhaust your brain!
Stop studying. Seriously. Just stop. Put it all away by 6pm. Eat a good meal, have some fun and get a great night’s sleep.
My vet school pals and I ordered pizza, watched movies and laughed, a lot. I highly recommend this approach! (We all passed.)
Eat a good breakfast. Take a walk if you have time. Just go for it. Again, no cramming! Don’t be that student who arrives early and crams in the car! There’s no point! You either know it or you don’t… and you likely do!
Finally, read each question carefully to assure you are answering what is being asked. Take breaks if you need them. Breathe. Relax. Have fun!
