February 13th marked the official date where graduating Veterinary Students found out their match results for residency and internships for the 2017-2018 school year. VIRMP, also refered to as Veterinary Internship & Residency Matching Program is sponsored by the American Association of Veterinary Clinicians.

New Call-to-action

Students go on to the official VIRMP web-based system where they had to apply online in September of 2016.  According to the official website:

Match Results Date. Results will be posted to the VIRMP website. Institutions may print matched lists, unmatched applicants list and open positions list. Matched applicants may access matched program information. Unmatched applicants may search open positions.

For those that were not matched up, they have an opportunity on February 27th to view the open positions list when they are made availabe to the public.

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine congratulated their students on twitter:

My Own Experiences

When I was going through this process many years ago, I wish there were things I would have known before I started the process.  You can read about that in detail here on this blog post.

I also recently shared my personal experience of my Internship year and why it sucked but was PERFECT for me.
