I have to hand it to the students at Iowa State University!

The SAVMA leadership put on one of the best symposiums that we have had the pleasure of attending.   After attending a large veterinary conference the previous week, it was such a breath of fresh air to be around “our people” again.

As a company that was started by veterinary students and for veterinary students, I found the excitement of the next generation in this profession quite contagious.  VetPrep has been a consistent sponsor and exhibitor of SAVMA for many years and despite being a very small company, we are very proud to have been able to be a Bronze level sponsor in 2016.

In addition to speaking with students about VetPrep, it was a thrill to see how many students have found and loved the free mobile application we’ve built for collaboration and education of veterinary professionals, ViralVet.

But the true highlight for me was the engagement and excitement that so many students showed for the innovation competition that we launched called “The Idea”.

In partnership with SAVMA and the Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA), VetPrep’s hosting of this event is an opportunity for us to see what vet students can do while giving something back to this community that we’ve worked to help since we first started building VetPrep in 2003.

I was impressed to talk to many students that actually already had ideas they have been thinking about that expressed an interest in participating.  I cannot wait to see what they come up with!

I’d like to specifically thank and recognize a few people that were incredibly key to the success of everything at SAVMA.  Thanks to Celeste Morris and the rest of the Iowa State SAVMA symposium committee for helping us organize and putting together a great symposium.

Thank you Alejandro Ramirez, the faculty mentor for the symposium (and also a beloved VetPrep swine contributor/editor).   And a huge thank you Danielle Rosenberg and everyone from the VBMA who has shown so much excitement and support for The Idea.

I can’t wait to see what comes next!
