Founder Nicole McArthur hopes Facebook group will help struggling veterinarians know they’re not alone.

quotesVP.jpgThe second and ultimate goal of this group is to raise awareness about the fact that suicide is a very real problem within the veterinary profession. We all hear the statistic, but nobody ever talks about it. We don’t discuss why veterinarians are killing themselves more than any other group of professionals. There are multiple factors involved and there is no easy solution. My hope is that by just talking openly, our community will begin to learn and grow and eventually develop a solution to the problem of suicide in our industry.

Veterinarians commit suicide.  For a profession often perceived to be focused on playing with puppies and kittens all day, the reality is much different.  Many of us suffer from depression, anxiety, burn out and deal with a myriad of other struggles we never discuss.  Until now.  Dr. Nicole McArthur created a safe haven for discussion and support through a Private Facebook Group titled Not One More Vet.  Check out this article for more information.
